Vivatech, an international tech show in Paris
VivaTech is the world’s rendezvous for startups and leaders to celebrate innovation. This international event, dedicated to the growth of startups, digital transformation and innovation, will take place 16-18 May 2019 at Porte de Versailles, Paris. Having attracted more than 100,000 visitors in 2018, the show reiterates the event for a fourth edition and will bring again together will bring together startups, business leaders and executives, investors, academics, students and media from around the globe. For 3 days, Viva Technology will brighten up to the rhythm of tech, where speakers will present the major trends in the field of technology and innovation, from blockchain to AI, GreenTech or the challenges of Connected healthcare and genetic modification. Vaonis will be taking part in the AFA Astronomy Event taking place at the Cité des Sciences et de l’Industrie held in Paris, between Thursday 1st and Saturday 3rd of November 2018.
The AFA Astronomy Event, or RCE in French, is the biggest gathering of astronomy enthusiasts in France, offering hundred of conferences, round tables, forums and workshops in order to satisfy the curiosity of a large audience.
The public will also be able to enjoy the shopping area and discover the latest products in the astronomy sector, visit the exhibitions and meet scientific and industry key actors.
Organised by the AFA (French Astronomy Association) since 1998, this biennial event attracts more than 2500 visitors every day and represents undoubtedly the most important event of the astronomical community, both professionals and amateurs, in Europe.
Vaonis, with the presence of its Technical Director and Marketing Manager, will present the evolutions of Stellina since its last appearance at the AFA Astronomy Event in 2016, where the product was still a prototype. It will also be a great opportunity to meet Vaonis’ first customers and other astronomy enthusiasts willing to know more about this next generation telescope, a game changer in the field of astrophotography.
A conference will also be led by Gilles, Technical Director at Vaonis, on November 1, 4pm where we will be discussing The future of Astrophotography.
Vaonis is glad to announce its participation to Sónar+D, taking place in Barcelona from June 13-16 2018.
Startup Garden 2017
Sónar+D is an international congress, organized in conjunction with Sonar electronic music festival, that explores how creativity is changing our present and imagining new futures, in collaboration with researchers, innovators and business leaders. Since 2013, this meeting gathers in Barcelona leading artists, creative technologists, musicians, filmmakers, designers, thinkers, scientists, entrepreneurs, makers and hackers to participate in a carefully commissioned program with the aim at inspiration and networking.
This 6th edition will cover 5 key topics aimed at imagining the future, while asking: what are the new creative and technological territories that remain unexplored? And who are the people leading these initiatives. One of this topic is about the Future of Space Exploration: Exoplanets, nanosatellites and a vision of the future in 10,000 years from now. This theme will be covered by "Makers", artists and scientists, democratizing the conquest of space, with guests and speakers from NASA, MIT Media Lab or SETI.
The stand out activities from this year's program include a workshop on how to build nanosatelites; The Glass Room Experience, an installation that shows the dark side of the technology we use day to day; as well as an opportunity to meet the creators investigating how art can exist in space, creating instruments designed to be played in zero gravity.
Vaonis will be attending specifically the Startup Garden area, dedicated to the entrepreneurial ecosystem, the chosen way, more and more, to channel innovation for large companies as well as for creatives, technologists and entrepreneurs. The Startup Garden will promote more than 25 selected startups presenting their new technology to change the future.

Starting May 1, the Stellina telescope will be available for sale in the shops of one of New York’s most visited museums, the MoMA (Museum of Modern Arts). This exclusive pre-launch is the result of an exclusive collaboration with the MoMA Design Store and Business France, as part of “La French Tech au MoMA” and NYCxDesign events.
Available in a limited edition, the telescopes at the MoMA Design Store are part of a pilot production (pre-serial products). The Vaonis team, through this exclusive sale arriving 5 months before the official launch of the telescope, wants to offer a privileged discussion to the first American buyers in order to better understand the user experience of the product, the difficulties of use or the expectations.

Smart telescope Stellina was awarded CES 2018 Innovation Honoree in the Digital Imaging category. The prize was announced during CES Unveiled Paris, a pre-CES event reserved for entrepreneurs, influencers and medias of the tech industry in order to give a preview of the innovations that the visitors will be able to discover during the CES held in January.
The CES (Consumer Electronics Show) is the largest global gathering of innovation that showcases the connected future of technology. Last year, 180,000 visitors discovered the latest product innovations from all over the world. In January, more than 4,000 exhibitors and 7,000 medias and journalists will attend this major event that gathers the biggest industries, most disruptive startups and major players in the tech industry to build the world of tomorrow. The annual CES Innovation Awards program celebrates outstanding product design and engineering in brand-new consumer technology products.
Vaonis is pleased to announce this prize that rewards the best product innovation every year and its participation to the event in Las Vegas in January 2018 where the team will present its innovation to the international public.
Vaonis will be taking part in the Astro Messe fair (AME) on September 9th, one of the biggest astronomy fair in Germany. It will take place in the city of Villingen-Schwenningen, in Southern Germany, and is situated only 100km from Strasbourg, France. The 1600m² exhibition hall will allow the thousands of visitors expected to discover the new products of hundreds of manufacturers and retailers, including Vaonis with their innovation Stellina. It’s the first fair trade outside France that Vaonis attends as an exhibitor. The team is very excited to get the first impressions of a whole new public, only few months before the release of the telescope in the European Union.
Vaonis participera pour la première fois au Festival d’Astronomie de Tautavel qui se déroulera du jeudi 20 au dimanche 23 juillet 2017 dans les Pyrénées-Orientales. Ce festival rassemble chaque année des milliers de personnes venus de toute la France et s’adresse à tous les publics, du simple curieux à l’astronome averti. Parmi eux, des centaines d’astronomes amateurs logeront dans le Village des Astronomes pour partager leur passion dans une atmosphère conviviale. De nombreuses activités, entièrement gratuites, rythmeront ains les 4 jours du festival : cycles de conférences, ateliers, séances de planétarium, soirées d’observation… Un festival off est également organisé quelques jours après la manifestation.

On the occasion of the Nuits des Étoiles (Stargazing Nights), Vaonis will be present from 28 to 30 July 2017 at the top of the Montparnasse tower (floor 59) as part of the stargazing evenings organized by the French Association of Astronomy (AFA). The opportunity, for those who could not attend the International Paris Air Show, to discover Stellina telescope for the first time.
Nuits des Étoiles… Their reputation is well established as this event is the most popular in the field of amateur astronomy in France. Three days dedicated to the observation of a beautiful starry sky everywhere in France and this, generally for free, making the event accessible to all.
Dates and activities
While most stargazing events cover only one or two nights, the visitors of Paris will be able to fully enjoy the three nights of observation, as is the case with the Nuits des Étoiles held at the top of the Montparnasse Tower in Paris. In addition to the many telescopes available and the presence of animators, the AFA astronomy society will organize a photographic exhibition, conferences and a workshop around the exploration of the digital sky on the 56th floor of the tower. Access to the activities is free once the entry fees for the tower have been paid.
The event will start at 8:00 pm every day, just before the sunset at 9:30 pm. The last entrance will be at 11:30 pm on Friday/Saturday and 11:00 pm on Sunday.
What to observe during the evenings and how?
Early in the evening, it may be possible to observe a lunar crescent shortly before sunset. Visitors will be able to enjoy the sunset accompanied by Jupiter. Saturn will appear soon after with the arrival of the first bright stars. The night will be well settled and it will be an opportunity to observe the Andromeda galaxy, the summer triangle or Albireo and the double star of the Swan. The evenings will end in beauty with the possibility of observing some shooting stars, especially Saturday where a shower of shooting stars is expected.
People are invited to enjo ystargazing using the different telescopes available on site. However, you can also enjoy the starry sky with the naked eye.
Vaonis will be taking part at the International Paris Air Show on June 2017. Organized by the SIAE, a subsidiary of GIFAS, the French Aerospace Industries Association and best known as Salon du Bourget, this major aerospace exhibition is one of the most important air shows in the world, attracting more than 300 000 visitors every two years.
Vaonis team will be presenting its telescope Stellina:
• on Friday, June 23rd 2017 at the CNES (French government space agency) booth;
• on Saturday, 24th and Sunday, June 25th in the Paris Air Lab area, a new 2,000m2 space devoted to innovation in the aeronautics and space industry. The exhibition is open for both professional visitors and the general public coming from all over Europe to discover the latest innovations of start-ups in the field of aerospace. Located at the heart of the Salon du Bourget, the Paris Air Lab is organized into 3 complementary themes: aeronautics, digital and new applications, space. Daily sessions presentations and keynotes will be moderated by professionals, experts, and startups projects. Cyril Dupuy, the founder of Vaonis will present a 2 minutes speech about the evolution of an all-in-one telescope Stellina.
