Vaonis

A pioneer is born.

More than a telescope. Witness Stellina.

Vaonis

Stellina is the first smart telescope ever made, the perfect combination of a telescope and a camera.

Smart and fully automated, Stellina was a revolution in the world of Astronomy. With a completely redesigned experience of observation, substituting the eyepiece with a mobile application,
everyone can access the wonders of the Universe with ease.

You can now explore and observe the night sky, take your own photos of celestial objects, learn about the Cosmos, and share your discoveries in one place.

An unparalleled experience.

Pointing & Tracking

Stellina embarks Go-To technology and moves automatically to track your stellar object, compensating Earth’s rotation. Pointing and tracking is completely automated.

Autofocus

Stellina is the first stellar device with incorporated autofocus. No need for manual intervention anymore.

Dew heater & light pollution filter

Stellina incorporates dew heater technology, allowing optimal observation condition for the lens.

It also integrates light pollution filter, allowing perfect conditions for an observation wherever you are.

Vaonis

A SONY sensor offering exceptionally high sensitivity.

This back-illuminated CMOS image sensor features 2.4µm unit pixels and a 14-bit ADC, providing the three key advantages essential for astrophotography: high resolution, high sensitivity, and a wide dynamic range.

Vaonis

A rare optical system combining compactness and performance.

Vaonis has developed an optical system inspired by the biggest professional observatories, combined with the refractor lenses used by amateurs in search of excellence. This is the origin of the refractor-reflector system with Nasmyth focus, present in each Stellina.

Vaonis

The first on-board auto-focus accessible to everyone.

We know that adjusting focus is a tedious process for many observers. This is why Stellina’s motor is controlled by its on-board computer. The system allows for a focal precision of 12µm. Stellina captures an image, analyzes it, and indicates the best position for the sensor, allowing the motor to automatically adjust. Thermal variations are also taken into account to enable the user to recalibrate focus when necessary.

Vaonis

Power and control.

Stellina is equipped with a powerful sensor, 4 motors, 1 heating resistor, and 2 temperature and humidity sensors. Stellina has no shortage of on-board equipment. To ensure optimal performance and deliver the best possible images, Stellina includes an on-board computer with a 64-bit quad-core processor clocked at 1.4 GHz, a high-performance graphics processor, and 1 GB of SDRAM.

Vaonis

Countering constraints.

Alt-azimuthal mounts offer benefits like easy installation, stability, and simple positioning of electronic elements. However, field rotation can affect the size of the observable area due to its slow rotation. Stellina’s mechanical rotation system, controlled by the imaging unit, ensures the sensor operates at full capacity and allows users to select the desired field—ideal for capturing diffuse nebulae and galaxies.
