Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2: What’s New.
11 Apr. 2026
Vaonis is renewing its Vespera smart telescope range to better meet user expectations and deliver even more advanced performance for imaging the universe. With major upgrades to optics, autonomy, and overall user comfort, the new lineup makes Vespera more capable than ever for astrophotography while preserving the simplicity and portability that define the experience.

Even more advanced imaging performance with a new optical design
Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 feature a new optical design: a three-group, flat-field apochromatic quadruplet.
This upgraded optical system delivers faster acquisition, sharper details, finer stars, improved sensitivity in the blue and red parts of the spectrum, and better color contrast overall.
The result is a more capable imaging instrument designed to push smart telescope astrophotography even further.

more of the signal reaches the sensor, meaning slightly faster acquisition and cleaner image data.

The Point Spread Function (PSF) A more concentrated spot and a higher peak intensity means better image quality with less chromatic aberration.

The new Vespera range offers more consistent image quality across the spectrum, with improved performance in the blue and red.
Stray-light protection for urban observing
While amateur astronomers naturally seek the darkest skies possible, everyday observing often takes place in urban or suburban environments, where streetlights can become a real obstacle.
Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 are equipped with a new optical baffle that significantly reduces the halos caused by stray light in captured images. It also improves contrast, allowing deep-sky objects to appear more quickly, even within the first minutes of observation.
This brings a meaningful improvement to observing and imaging in light-polluted environments.

The image above compares a live observation on a smartphone with Vespera II (left) and Vespera III with the new optical baffle (right), captured from the same location at the same time, just 15 meters from a street lamp. The halo reduction is striking, even after only a few minutes of observation.
Please note that the optical baffle does not eliminate global skyglow caused by overall light pollution in the sky.
A full night of battery life

Vespera Pro already offered a record 11 hours of battery life for a smart telescope.
Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 now both offer that same extended autonomy, giving users greater freedom and comfort during long observing sessions. For many nights under the stars, there is no longer any need to bring an external battery pack.
A five-year warranty

Some of Vespera’s most heavily used components, such as the USB connector, have been reinforced. Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 also retain the metal chassis that provides both durability during transport and stability during observation.
Both telescopes now come standard with a five-year warranty for even greater peace of mind.
Increased storage capacity

Many Vespera II users asked for more onboard storage. That request has now been addressed with Vespera 3, which offers 115 GB of storage capacity.
Vespera Pro 2 retains its 225 GB storage capacity, providing plenty of room for ambitious observing and imaging projects.
Anti-fog system included as standard

Front lens defogging is now included as standard across the new Vespera range.
Both Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 feature an integrated anti-fog system to help ensure more reliable observing conditions throughout the night.
A new tripod
The new Vespera range now comes standard with a tall adjustable tripod: aluminum for Vespera 3 and carbon fiber for Vespera Pro 2.

These tripods feature an a weighting system as well as an integrated bubble level, making setup easier and more stable in the field.
Faster file transfers via USB
To respond to user demand and provide faster file transfers between Vespera and a computer, the connection is now made directly through USB-C.
This makes it easier and quicker to retrieve your captures after an observing session.
A smarter, more capable Vespera experience
With stronger performance for both observation and astrophotography, along with equipment upgrades designed to improve the overall user experience, the new Vespera range allows Vaonis to continue delivering portable smart telescopes with no compromise between quality and ease of use.
Whether you are a beginner discovering the night sky for the first time or an experienced amateur astronomer pursuing more ambitious projects, Vespera 3 and Vespera Pro 2 are built to make astrophotography more powerful, more accessible, and more enjoyable than ever.
