Vespera Dual Band Filter

The Vespera Dual Band Filter is a dual narrowband interference filter that will significantly improve your photo quality whether you are viewing from an urban or natural environment.

By selecting very precisely the wavelengths of Hydrogen Alpha (H-alpha) and Oxygen III (O-III), found mainly in nebulae, the filter will increase the contrast between the Stellar object and the sky background. Thus, its use makes it possible to obtain a higher-quality image, with sharper stars and finer details.

Keep only the essential

The Dual Band filter has been designed to allow only two particular wavelengths to pass through to the Vespera sensor:
- O-III
- H-alpha

Due to the filtered wavelengths, it is particularly effective for photographing nebulae in emission (e.g.: Orion nebula M42, Heart nebula IC 1805 …), dark nebulae endowed with hydrogen (e.g.: Horsehead or Elephant's Trunk nebula...), planetary nebulae (e.g.: Owl nebula M97, Dumbbell nebula M27...), supernova remnants (e.g.: Veil nebula, Crab Nebula M1...).

For globular clusters (e.g.: Hercules cluster M13, cluster M92...), the selectivity of the Dual Band filter will help you to obtain sharper stars.

A filter specifically studied for Vespera

The optical quality of the Dual Band filter has been specifically studied by our engineers to offer use at full aperture, without any impact on the optical diameter of the instrument. The lens ring is equipped with an electronic micro-card that allows Vespera to detect the Dual Band filter and adapt its observation and image processing parameters.

Transmission curve

The filter features 12nm of bandwidth in each wavelength (O-III = 500.7nm, H-alpha = 656.3nm).

Excellent scope and interface

I was able to use the Vespera 2 right out of the box with almost no learning curve. It is a wonderful design and I highly recommend to others for deep space viewing. Because it is an f/5 scope, it is not really suitable for planetary viewing, but I knew that and have another f/10 scope for that purpose. The attached picture is my "first light" photo of the Andromeda galaxy with no filters on a quarter-moon, light polluted night. The exposure was 212 stacked images over 35 minutes. All compiled by the app in my iPad.

Very Impressive!

The Vaonis Vespera Pro is an exceptional smart telescope that delivers real astrophotography results with virtually no learning curve. Designed for serious hobbyists who value both performance and simplicity, the Vespera Pro bridges the gap between traditional telescopes and modern, app-driven imaging systems.

Setup is fast and intuitive. From tripod deployment to first light takes only a few minutes. Using Vaonis’ Singularity app, the telescope automatically handles alignment, focusing, tracking, and image stacking. This allows the user to focus on observing rather than managing complex settings.

What truly sets the Vespera Pro apart is image quality. Its larger sensor and improved optics provide noticeably sharper detail, lower noise, and richer color compared to entry-level smart telescopes. Extended integration and mosaic modes allow for wide-field captures of nebulae and galaxies that rival much more complex rigs. The ability to stack images live means results continue improving the longer the session runs.

The build quality is excellent. The telescope feels solid, well-engineered, and purpose-built for long-term use. The integrated filters, advanced imaging modes, and automated dark calibration further reinforce that this is a premium instrument designed for users who want consistent, repeatable results.

In short, the Vespera Pro is ideal for anyone who wants high-quality deep-sky images without dealing with polar alignment, cables, laptops, or manual post-processing. It delivers professional-level outcomes in a compact, elegant, and highly automated package.

Verdict:
The Vaonis Vespera Pro is one of the best smart telescopes available today. It offers outstanding image quality, ease of use, and reliability, making it an excellent long-term investment for astrophotography enthusiasts.

One of the coolest

So I purchased for my son as he wanted this telescope to have pictures taken for his project. He is super interested in becoming an astrophysicist and he is taking college courses while in high school. The quality of pictures and how it explains what is found is simply amazing.

In a nutshell

- Significantly improves photo quality
- Ideal for nebula photography
- Increases the contrast between the sky background and the stellar object
- Refines stars and details
