Great lens system for starters and hobbyist

Everything has been great so far. Only suggestion I could make is that little plastic piece comes loose when the unit is rotated almost pointing up and could easily be off. The problem is that this little plastic piece is not replaceable in the store. I kind if would like to have at least a few ready in handy in case I lose it.

Ready for the August eclipse

I lost the original solar filter supplied with the Hestia Premium kit which I purchased for the 2014 solar eclipse during an accident whilst observing outdoors, so ordered the Hestia Solar Kit from Vaonis. The kit arrived in a few days from France to the U.K. and I am now ready to observe and image the Solar Eclipse in August 2026.

Tutorials | Master your Hestia

Solar observation must be carried out with Vaonis solar filters. Never look directly at the sun without the filter, as this could injure you or damage your phone.

Select solar mode from the camera menu.
Install the Vaonis solar filter by screwing it onto the front of Hestia.

The image will turn black, with only the sun remaining visible after the filter is installed.

Attach the Solar pointer to Hestia.
Aim at the sun with Hestia, using the tripod.
Use the solar pointer's shadow to help you aim at the sun.
Once the sun is centered on the screen, fix the tripod's altitude axis.

⚠ Never look directly at the sun with your naked eyes, as it can cause serious damage to your vision.
