New moon observation features (Singularity february 2026 update)

The February 2026 Singularity update introduces new settings and enhanced capabilities for Moon observation.
You can now manually adjust exposure, gain, focus, and color saturation (Moon images are now displayed in color). These new controls improve the observing experience, especially during lunar eclipses.
It is also now possible to save RAW (FITS) images for advanced editing in third-party software.

Starting a Moon Observation

The procedure remains the same:

Open the Singularity Catalog
Navigate to the Solar System section
Select Moon

To observe a lunar eclipse, follow the exact same steps.

Manually Adjusting Capture Settings

A Moon observation starts in Automatic mode using default settings.

Tap the Auto button to switch to manual mode, where you can adjust:

Exposure: Adjust the exposure time depending on the Moon’s phase or during a lunar eclipse.
Gain: Fine-tune overall image brightness.
Focus: Manually refine focus relative to Vespera’s base focus position.
Saturation: Adjust the intensity of the image colors.

For Exposure and Gain, you can tap Auto again at any time to restore default values.
For Saturation, tap Reset to return to the default value (0).
A saturation value of –100 produces a black-and-white image.

About Moon Color Calibration

This feature is currently in beta and requires additional data to be fully fine-tuned.

If you notice color inaccuracies in your Moon observations, please make sure FITS saving is enabled, then contact our support team and share your images with us.

During this adjustment:
- A dashed circle indicates the original setting value.
- A solid circle indicates the target value.
The dashed marker disappears once the adjustment is complete.
